Orientation Weeks

The New Graduate Student Welcome and Orientation is your official welcome to Brock University.

Join us in person on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. (registration between 9:30 and 10 a.m.) in TH325 for the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs Welcome and Orientation.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Orientation Week and prepare for the new semester with a rejuvenating sound bath experience led by Abbey Morris from Yoga by Abbey.

Abbey Morris is an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, Certified Sound Healer, and Meditation Teacher who will guide you through a relaxing session focused on mindfulness, meditation, and nervous system regulation. During this session, Abbey will introduce the benefits of sound healing before guiding participants through a meditation and restorative sound bath using crystal singing bowls and other sound healing instruments. Participants will have the opportunity to rest, recharge, and set an intention for the semester ahead.

No experience is required. Simply bring yourself, a yoga mat, and anything you need to feel comfortable while you relax. OPEN TO GRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY.

Add some colour to your Orientation Week at the GSA Tie Dye Social! Join us for a fun and creative opportunity to design your own one-of-a-kind tie dye GSA branded T-shirt while meeting fellow graduate students. 🌈✨

Choose the session that best fits your schedule:

• Session 1: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Session 2: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

📍 Location: Picnic Tables, Jubilee Court

All tie dye supplies and a free GSA branded T-shirt will be provided. Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy, as dye may stain. Space is limited, so be sure to register in advance.

Please note: This event is open to current Brock graduate students only. Registration is required, and students may register for one session only.

Graduate students, take a break and join us by the outdoor firepit for a relaxed evening of campfire, s’mores and conversation! Drop by on September 11 from 5–7 p.m. to connect with other grad students, enjoy a sweet treat and unwind as the new term gets underway.
