Members of our Board of Directors govern as directors for the organization. They are selected to represent their specific faculty and are jointly responsible for governing the organization, as well as serving as liaisons between the GSA Executive and the graduate students at large.
Sitting on our Board of Directors and various committees, Directors represent the GSA within their faculty and represent students at large by using their vote in the GSA. This is an opportunity to bring issues or concerns from their faculty to the attention of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the larger graduate community.
The Board of Directors meets monthly to address student issues and support graduate students during their time at Brock. Applications for the Board typically open in the Winter term for the upcoming year (May-April), but if there are vacancies, the Board may have further recruitment periods throughout the year.
Meetings of the Board
Board of Directors meetings are held monthly, typically the fourth Thursday. All meetings are open to the public and graduate students are always welcome to attend. Students who wish to bring a matter to the Board’s attention are asked to contact the GSA office seven (7) days in advance of the meeting, so their issue may be added to the agenda.

Our Board of Directors follows Robert’s Rules of Order, which provides widely accepted guidelines for conducting meetings.
