Associate Vice-President, Student Engagement
The GSA is currently recruiting up to three graduate student volunteers to serve as Associate Vice-Presidents, Student Engagement for the 2026-2027 academic year!
Are you passionate about creating memorable student experiences, organizing events, and building community on campus? The Associate Vice-President, Student Engagement is a hands-on leadership role that supports the planning, promotion, and delivery of GSA events and initiatives throughout the academic year, including the GSA’s flagship Starlight Gala.
Working alongside the GSA President and Communications & Events Coordinator, you’ll help bring graduate student programming to life by assisting with event planning, promotions, setup and teardown, welcoming attendees, and providing feedback to help improve future events. This is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership, event management, and communications skills while making a meaningful impact on graduate student life at Brock.
Before applying, please ensure you can commit to attending GSA events throughout the academic year. This is an in-person, event-based volunteer position, and some evenings and weekends may be required depending on the event schedule. The average time commitment is approximately 2–4 hours per week, with hours varying throughout the year based on GSA programming.

Eligibility:
- Be a registered full- or part-time graduate student in good standing at Brock University.
- Be available to serve from September 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027.

Board of Directors
The GSA is currently recruiting graduate student members to serve on the GSA Board of Directors for the 2026-2027 academic year!
Will you be a returning graduate student and interested in student advocacy, the graduate student experience, or perhaps want more insight into how the GSA and Brock University operate together? We encourage you to consider applying to sit as a Director on the GSA Board.
Before applying for the 2026-2027 term, please ensure your availability aligns with the meetings and obligations of the Board. Board meetings are typically held the fourth Thursday of every month, Noon to 2 p.m., from May 2026 to April 2027, along with twice annual General Members Meetings typically held in October and April.
Board Directors are also required to serve on at least one (1) GSA Committee during their term; most Committee meetings are held once per month. Total time commitment is estimated at 3 hours per month.
We are currently accepting applications for graduate students in the following faculties:
- Social Sciences
- Goodman School of Business
- At-large seats (Any Faculty)

The GSA is currently recruiting graduate student at-large representatives to serve on our 2026-2027 internal committees.
All committee meetings are virtual.
Our internal committees are a great place for students interested in graduate student life and leadership. We are recruiting for graduate student-at-large representatives on our 2026-2027 internal committees:
Governance, Elections and Nominating Committee (2-3 hours/month) URGENTLY RECRUITING!
Oversees GSA governance, elections, policy reviews, and Board/committee nominations.
External & University Affairs Committee (1 hour/month) URGENTLY RECRUITING!
Advises on external and university relations, strategic initiatives, and student advocacy for the GSA.
Communications & Engagement Committee (1 hour/month) URGENTLY RECRUITING!
Provides guidance on GSA communications, events, and engagement initiatives. Helps shape outreach strategies, supports promotional efforts, and monitors activities across campus that impact graduate students.
Student Life & Equity Committee (1 hour/month
Focuses on enhancing student experience, inclusion, and equity. Supports initiatives, events, and safe spaces that foster connection, community, and advocacy for equity-seeking and marginalized groups.
