| My name is Obijiaku Emeka, and I am running for Vice President, External and University Affairs because I want to turn connections into real opportunities for graduate students. My leadership journey has taken me from coordinating community initiatives to working alongside international corporations and nonprofit organizations. As someone who has volunteered extensively and co-founded a nonprofit initiative, I understand what it takes to build partnerships from the ground up and translate collaboration into impact. Beyond titles and training, I lead by listening, following through, and delivering results. If elected, I will focus on outcomes that matter. I will actively pursue new external partners each semester to expand access to internships, mentorships, and career networking. I will strengthen External Affairs communications through a monthly newsletter that clearly highlights opportunities, partnerships, and student achievements. I will also invest in student leaders by delivering practical workshops on proposal writing and sponsorship pitching, while negotiating student discounts with local businesses to heal ease everyday financial pressures. This campaign is about action, not promises. It is about creating pathways, amplifying student voices, and making external engagement work for you.
