ANNUAL STARLIGHT GALA
The GSA-hosted Annual Starlight Gala is an evening dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and community of graduate students at Brock University.
On Saturday, April 1, 2023, Grad Students, Grad Alumni, Brock Administration, Dignitaries and Staff came together for our signature graduate student event – the Starlight Gala! – with dinner, awards, prizes and entertainment. We gather to celebrate the present, recognize our past twenty years of operation as an association and look toward another incredible twenty years of engagement and representation of graduate students at Brock. Orientation Week
The GSA welcomes new and returning graduate students at Brock University.
During Fall Orientation week – September 5 – 8, 2023, the GSA welcomes all new and returning graduate students with a week of events, activities and orientation sessions. The GSA is joined by representatives from Student VIP to provide students with information on the GSA Health & Dental Plan. In addition, the GSA hosts representatives from the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) to share information on their services and on the worldwide Student Identity Card (ISIC). During our Winter Orientation week – January 8 – 12, 2024, the GSA once again welcomes all new and returning graduate students with a week of events, activities and orientation sessions. The GSA is joined once again by representatives from Student VIP to provide students with information on the GSA Health & Dental Plan. Watch ExperienceBU for event times and details.
Cultural Integration Week
The GSA celebrates student diversity and the various cultures of our graduate students at Brock University.
The GSA, led by the VP Equity and Inclusion, brings a week of programming and events to Brock graduate students. Showcasing cultures from our own community and from around the world, guest speakers, workshops, movie screenings and interactive events make the world feel a little less wide and give students the opportunity to experience cultures different from their own. With new events added each year, Cultural Integration Week is a highlight in the GSA calendar.
Wellness Week
The GSA partners with various Brock departments and external partners to provide graduate students information, events, services and activities promoting good mental, physical and overall health.
Celebrated in November and March, the GSA promotes and hosts various activities with SWAC, Brock Recreation, BUSU, Student VIP and others for graduate student wellness. In addition, the GSA provides healthy snacks and treats for graduate students.
