President, Nominee
| I am in the final year of my PhD in Applied Health Sciences researching anticancer effects of the plant-derived compound carnosic acid against lung cancer. I bring extensive experience and institutional knowledge, having served five terms on the GSA Board of Directors, including three terms as Board Chair. Through this work, I have developed a strong understanding of GSA governance and Brock University’s decision-making structures, as well as the limits and opportunities for student advocacy. I have served on several university Senate committees which has provided me valuable insight into how academic policy affecting graduate students is developed and implemented. My academic background includes competitive funding through OGS and NSERC, peer-reviewed research publications, and presentations at international conferences, alongside experience as a sessional instructor in the Department of Health Sciences. These experiences reflect sustained engagement across research, teaching, and professional development, and inform my approach to graduate student advocacy. Having been involved with the GSA for many years, I am well positioned to step into this role immediately and focus on advancing practical, informed advocacy for Brock’s graduate student community. |
